Recent Intel security flaw

Based on the recent discovery of intel’s cpu security flaw we will be checking and updating all of our client’s Windows 10 computers to make sure they have the latest version.  Intel is working with Microsoft on a security update that will patch this vulnerability that allows hackers to get access to your emails, pictures and passwords.

To get the latest Windows 10 version go to your systems update by typing on the Windows search box “update” and click on “check for updates“.

Also, you should check the version of Windows you have.  Microsoft no longer supports Windows 10 version 1507.   New windows 10 versions are 1607, 1703, and 1709.   You can check your windows version by typing in your search box “winver” or “about“.

Windows 10 version 1507 end of service impacts the following editions of Windows 10:
  • Windows 10 Home
  • Windows 10 Pro
  • Windows 10 Education
  • Windows 10 Enterprise

For non-Intel based systems please contact your system manufacturer or microprocessor vendor (AMD, ARM, Qualcomm, etc.) for updates.
